Cochin, Jean Denis Marie

Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature

a French philanthropist, was born in 1789. He occupied several civil offices, but is best known as the founder of the asylum homes of Paris, and by his efforts to improve and extend public primary instruction.
