Coello, Alonso Sanchez
Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature
an eminent Portuguese painter, was born in 1515, and resided chiefly in Spain. He painted a number of works for the churches of Madrid. His master-piece is in San Geronimo, representing The Martyrdom of St. Sebastian, with the figures of Christ and the Virgino He died in 1590. See Spooner, Biog.
