a minister of the Methodist Episcopal Church South, was born at Richmond, Virginia, May 20, 1812. He was converted in his eighteenth year; soon became an earnest Christian worker as Sabbath school teacher and class-leader; began preaching in 1835; and in the following year entered the Virginia Conference, wherein he labored with zeal and faithfulness until his death, November 28, 1866.
