a Lutheran theologian of Germany, was born at Tubingen, December 24, 1758, where he also prepared himself for the ministry. In 1793 lie was appointed deacon at Goppingen; in 1794, assistant at Stuttgart; in 1819, pastor at Mossingen; and in 1824 again at Stuttgart, as 'archdeancon' at the Stiftskirche.
