Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature

(Heb. Darkon', דִּרְקוֹן according to Gesenius, strewer; according to Furst, porter; Sept. Δαρκών, Δορκών; Vuig. Deron), a person whose "children" or descendants were among "Solomon's servants" that returned from Babylon with Zerubbabel (Ezra 2:56; Nehemiah 7:58). B.C. ante 536.
