He served for some time in the French army, joined the Benedictines at St. Vanne in 1711, taught at the abbey of Moyenmoutier, then at St. Maurice, in Valais; was appointed abbot of St. Leopold at Nancy, and died at St. Mihiel, January 24, 1766, leaving, Vie de M.
