Deprecatory
Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature
Literae Deprecatoriae are "letters of request" given by presbyters who were unable to grant the formal "dimissory letters" of the bishops. (See DIMISSORY LETTERS).
