a Methodist Episcopal minister, was born at Gilmanton, N.H., June 15, 1785; entered the New England Conference in 1822; in 1833 was made presiding elder; in 1839 was agent of Newbury Seminary; was superannuated in 1857; and died at Chelsea, Massachusetts, May 18, 1858, having preached thirty-six years. Mr. Dow was "an excellent man and minister, sound in doctrine, deep in experience, and uniform in piety.
