Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature

(Hebrews Elishaphat', אלִֵישָׁפָּטּ, whom God has judged; Sept. Ε᾿λισαφάτ v.r. Ε᾿λισαφάν ), son of Zichri, and one of the "captains of hundreds" whom Jehoiada associated with himself in the league to overthrow the usurpation of Athaliah (2 Chronicles 23:1). B.C. 877.
