Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature
(έλωϊ v for Aramoean אלֵהִי, my God), an exclamation quoted thus by our Savior (Mark 15:34) on the cross from Psalms 22:2 (where the Sept. has ὁθεὀς μου), for the Heb. אֵלִי, which is more literally Graecized ἠλί, ELI, by Matthew 26:46.
