Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature

(ἐυφώτιον ) is one of the names for the white robe with which persons were invested at baptism. The name is no doubt derived from the "enlightening" attributed to the baptismal ceremony. (See BAPTISM).
