Erembert, Saint

Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature

eleventh bishop of Toulouse, was born at Villiolicorte, near Poissy. He became a monk in 648 at the abbey of Fontenelle, which then was directed by Wandregisilus. Being appointed by Clothaire III to the see of Toulouse, about 656, he governed it twelve years with prudence, and then resigned, and dwelt for some time at his native home, but finally retired to the monastery of Fontenelle, where he died in 671 or 678.
