Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature
(בְּרֵכָה, berekah', a pool, as often elsewhere), a pond or reservoir in general; presumed by our translators at Song of Solomon 7:4 to be intended for fish (q.v.), such as we know were anciently constructed for the purpose of pleasure angling. (See FISHING) (above).
