Gilbert, Bishop of London

who died in 1134, is the author of, Glossae in Verus et Novum Testamentum: Comment. in Jobum, Threnos Jeremiae et Aliquot Psalmos: — Homiliae in Canticta Salomonais: — Comment. in Prologos S. Hieronymi super Biblia, which works are still in MS. On account of his great learning, Gilbert was styled Universalis.
