a French theologian, was born probably in 1230. After having begun his studies with the preaching friars of Le Mans, he went to the college of Saint Jacob, at Paris; became immediately afterwards one of the lecturers of the college, and, having gained some reputation in the pulpit, was appointed confessor to the king of Navarre, son of Phillippe the Bold.
