Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature

an eminent clergyman of the Presbyterian Church of Scotland, was born at Pitforthy in 1620. He studied at the University of St. Andrew's, and in 1644 became minister of the parish church of Finwick. He died in 1655. His principal work is The Christian's Great Interest, with Introductory Essay by T. Chalmers, D.D., and Life (Glasgow, 1850, 7th ed. 12mo).
