Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature

(Heb. Chaggiyah', חִגַּיָּה ,festival of Jehovah: Sept. Ἀγγία), a Levite of the family of Merari, apparently the son of Shimea and father of Asaiah, which last seems to have been contemporary with David (1 Chronicles 6:30 [Heb. 15]). B.C. ante 1043.
