Hanlein, Heinrich Carl Alexander von

Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature

a Lutheran theologian of Germany, was born at Anspach, July 11, 1762. He studied at Erlangen and Gottingen was in 1788 professor of theology at Erlangen, in 1808 a member of consistory at Munich, in 1818 director of the Protestant superior consistory, and died at Esslihgen, May 15, 1829. He wrote, Observationes ad loca Quaedam Vet. Test. (Gottingen, 1788): Einleitung in, die Schriften des Neuen Testaments (Erlangen, 1794, 2 volumes; 2d ed. 1801-1803): Symbolae Criticae ad Intepretationem Vaticiniorum Habacuci (ibid. 1795): Commentarius in Epistolam Juds (ibid. 1795-96): De Lectoribus Epistolae Pauli ad Ephesios (ibid. 1797): Curae in Librios Novi Federis (1798-1804, 7 parts): Lehrbuch der Einleitung in die Schriften des Neuen Testaments (1802): Epistola Judae, Graecae (1804).
