Help-Meet

Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature

(or rather, as the best editions of the Bible now punctuate it, HELP MEET for him, עֶזֶר כְּנֶגְדּוֹ, e'zer, ke-negdo', a help as his counterpart, i.e. an aid suitable and supplementary to him), a delicate and beautiful designation of a wife (Genesis 2:18-20), which exactly expresses her relation. (See MARRIAGE).
