This refers, in a general sense, to any aid which he, as perpetual High priest, extends to those who approach God confiding in him (Hebrews 4:16; Hebrews 7:25-27). He is also represented as offering up the prayers and praises of his people, which become acceptable to God through him (Hebrews 13:15; 1 Peter 2:5; Revelation 8:3). Of the intercession of Christ we may observe, that it is righteous, for it is founded upon justice and truth (Hebrews 7:26; 1 John 3:5), compassionate (Hebrews 2:17; Hebrews 5:8), perpetual (Hebrews 7:25), and efficacious (1 John 2:1).
