Iperius, Joannes

Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature

(surnamed "the Long"), a Benedictine abbot of St. Bertin, was a native of Ypres, Belgium, and died in 1383. He is the author of a History or Chronicon of his monastery, from the year 590 to 1294. It has been inserted, under the title of Chronica, sive Historia Monasterii S. Bertini, in the Thesaurus Novus Anecdotorum, etc., 3:446 sq. (1717).
