Jacob ben-Isaac

Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature

of Prague, who died about 1628, is the author of צאינה וראינה, or a Judeo-German midrash on the Pentateuch, the five Megilloth and Haftaras (Amsterdam, 1648, and often; partly translated into Latin by Saubert, Helmstadt, 1660; Engl. transl. by Hershon, Lond. 1865); a modern imitation is the La Semaine Israelite, by B.
