(Heb. Yoshah', יוֹשָׁה , prob. establisher; Sept. Ι᾿ωσίας, v.r. Ι᾿ωσία ; Vulg. Josa), son of Amaziah, and one of the chief Simeonites. the increase of whose family induced them to migrate to the valley of Gedor, whence they expelled the aboriginal Hamites (1 Chronicles 4:34). B.C. cir. 711.
