Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature

[some Keli'ta] (Hebrew Kelita', קְלַיטָא , dwarf; Sept. Κωλίτας, Καλλίτας, Καλιτάν ), one of the Levites who assisted Ezra in expounding the law to the people (Nehemiah 8:7), and joined' the sacred covenant (Nehemiah 10:10); he was also one of those who had divorced their heathen wives (Ezra 10:23, where it is stated that his name was likewise KELAIAH). B.C. 459-410.
