Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature

a veteran minister of the Methodist Episcopal Church South, was born at Baltimore, Maryland, November 15, 1804. He was converted when a boy, early established a mission-school near his native city, studied at Dickinson College, entered the Baltimore Conference in 1827, from 1863 to 1865 preached for an independent Methodist Church at Williamsport, Pennsylvania, in 1867 joined the Baltimore Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church South, in 1871 became supernumerary and died at Baltimore, August 1, 1884.
