Kippurim
Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature
(כַפֻּרַים, expiations, atonement), a name given by the Hebrews to the great day of atonement (q.v.), because on that day the sins of the whole people were understood to be expiated or pardoned.
