a minister of the Methodist Episcopal Church South, was born in Campbell County, Virginia, April 29, 1816. He studied at Urania College, Kentucky, was converted in his twentieth year, in 1838 was admitted into the Kentucky Ccnference, in which he soon attained eminence, and continued to preach, with a few intermissions in other religious work, until his superannuation in 1880.
