Literae Clericae
Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature
(clerical letters), a name given by Cyprian to letters written by a bishop in ancient times to a foreign Church, and which were sent by the hands of one of the clergy, usually a sub-deacon.
