September 25, 542. He began as a monk in the monastery of the Isle of Sainte-Barbe, on the Saone, near Lyons. He became the superior of it, and Saint Virentiol, in the see of Lyons, in 523. He presided at the third council of Orleans, May 7, 538, at which there were passed thirty-three canons to restore discipline in the Church of France.
