Machatus, Saint
Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature
a Scotch prelate, was bishop of the Isles in 498 and 518. To this saint there are many churches dedicated in Scotland. See Keith, Scottish Bishops, page 295.
