Moscato, Judah

Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature

a noted physician and rabbi at Mantua, where he died in the year 1580, is the author of an important commentary on the Kozari of the celebrated Jehudah ha-Levi ben-Samuel (q.v.), קוֹל יְהוּדָה, The Voice of Judah (Venice, 1594). He also wrote, under the title of נְפוּצוֹת יְהוּדָה, The Dispersed of Judah, fifty-two lectures on diverse matters (Venice, 1589; republished at Warsaw, 1871). See Furst, Bibl.
