Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature

is the ecclesiastical term for a stringed instrument with a triangular, sonorous box. It only differed from the psaltery in form and having shorter strings (Walcott, Sacred Archaeol. s.v.).
