Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature

(Heb. Pagiel', פִּגְעַיאֵל, chance or event of God; Sept. Φαγιήλ, Numbers 1:13; elsewhere Φαγεήλ ), son of Ocran, and chief man of the tribe of Asher at the time of the Exode, appointed with others to command in war (Numbers 1:13; Numbers 2:27; Numbers 7:72; Numbers 7:77; Numbers 10:26). B.C. 1658.
