Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature

(Heb. Paltiel', פִּלְטַיאֵל, deliverance of God; Sept. Φαλτιήλ ), son of Azzan, and chief man of the tribe of Issachar, one of those appointed to divide the Promised Land among the tribes on their entrance into it (Numbers 34:26). B.C. 1618. (See PHALTIEL), which in the Hebrew is the same form.
