Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature

(Heb. Poke'reth, פֹּכֶרֶת , ensnaring; Sept. (Φακεράθ, v. r. Φαχεράθ , etc.), the name apparently of a person ("P. of Zebaim," the Sept. in some copies supplies "son of" between the words) whose "children" were among the Nethinim that returned from the captivity with Zerubbabel (Ezra 2:57; Nehemiah 7:59). B.C. ante 540.
