Presburg, Council of

Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature

(Concilium Presoniense), an ecclesiastical gathering which convened on Nov. 10, 1309, and was presided over by the papal legate cardinal Gentil, of Hungary. Nine canons of discipline were published, of which the eighth forbids Christian women to marry infidels, heretics, or schismatics. See Labb, Concil. 9:2453.
