Prophets, Sons of the.
Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature
The disciples, or scholars, of the prophets were thus called, agreeably to the Hebrew idiom; they were instructed in the knowledge of religion and in sacred music, and were thus qualified to become public teachers (1 Samuel 10:11). (See PROPHET).
