Richard of Devizes

Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature

was a monk of the priory of St. Swithun, at Winchester, in the 12th century, who wrote a history of the first years of the reign of Richard I 1189-92: Chronicon Ricardi Divisiensis de Rebus Gestis Ricardi Primi Regis Anglioe (Lond. 1838, 8vo): also Richard of Cirencester's Description of Britain; translated and edited by J.
