Robinson, Moses

Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature

a Presbyterian minister, was born in Burlington, Vt., April 26, 1815. His parents were poor, and he was dependent upon his own exertions to gain an education. He graduated at Middlebury College in 1839, studied theology in Union Seminary, New York city, was licensed by New York Third Presbytery in 1842, and was ordained by Salem Presbytery in 1843 as pastor of the church at Washington, Ind. He labored subsequently at Wadsworth, O., then at Enosburg, Vt., and for the last ten years of his life at Steamboat Rock, Ia. He died Aug. 31, 1865. See Wilson, Presb. Hist. Almanac, 1866, p. 223.
