the name of two Hebrews, differently spelled in the original.

1. (Heb. סִלּוּא, Sallu' [ סִלֻּא in Nehemiah 11:7], weighed; Sept. Σαλώ, v.r. Σηλώ, Σαλώμ .) A Benjaminite, son of Meshullam, dwelling in Jerusalem after the return from exile (Nehemiah 11:7; 1 Chronicles 9:7), B.C. cir. 459.

2. (Heb. סִלּוּ, Sallu', weighed; Sept. Σαλού v.r. Σαλλουαϊ v .) Another name (Nehemiah 12:7) for SALLAI (Nehemiah 12:20), No. 2 (q.v.).
