Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature

(Σαρωθιέ v.r. Σαρωθί ; Vulg. Caroneth), a person named (1 Esdr. 5, 84) as one of the heads of the families of "Solomon's servants" who returned from Babylon with Zerubbabel; but see the Hebrew lists (Ezra 2:57; Nehemiah 7:59).
