(Heb. Shimath', שַׁמְעִת , fem. of Shimeah; Sept. Σεμαάθ, v.r. Σαμάθ, Σαμά, and Ι᾿εμουάθ ), an Ammonitess, mother of Zabad or Jozachar, one of the two murderers of king Josiah (2 Kings 12:21; 2 Chronicles 24:26). B.C. ante 609.
