(Heb. Shucham', שׁוּחָ, perhaps pit-digger [Geseun.], or humiility [Furst]; Sept. Σαμέ v.r. Σαμειδή; Vulg. Suharu), the son of Dan, and progenitor of a family named after himself (Numbers 26:42); elsewhere (Genesis 41:23) called HUSHIM (See HUSHIM) (q.v.).
