Spalding, Josiah

Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature

a Congregational minister, was born at Plainfield, Conn., Jan. 10, 1751. He graduated at Yale College in 1778; was ordained at Uxbridge, Mass., Sept. 11, 1782; dismissed in 1787. After dismission he was installed at Washington, Mass., and in 1794 at Buckland, Mass., where he died, May 8, 1823. "He was a faithful preacher of evangelical sentiments."
