Spangenberg, Johann

Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature

a Lutheran theologian of Germany, father of Cyriacus (q.v.), was born March 30, 1484, at Hardegsen, near Gottingen. He studied at Erfurt, joined the Lutheran reformation, was in 1521 archdeacon, in 1524 first evangelical preacher at Nordhausen, in 1546 at Eisleben, and died June 13, 1550.
