Springer, Moses

Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature

a minister of the Methodist Episcopal Church, was converted in his eighteenth year, and in 1840 was admitted into full connection in the Maine Conference. He immediately located to take charge of the Maine Wesleyan Journal, which he continued to edit until it was united with the Zion's Herald. In 1859 he was admitted into the Minnesota Conference, and placed in a superannuated relation, which he sustained until his death, at Winchendon, Mass., Dec. 21, 1865. Mr. Springer was a man not only of faith, but also of superior intellect, and devoted to scientific studies, the last years of his life being spent in the National Observatory, Washington, D. C.
