Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature

(Heb. Ulam', אוּלָם, porch; Sept. Ο ù λάμ v.r. occasionally Αἰλέμ ), the name of two Hebrews.

1. First named of the two sons of Sheresh and father of Bedan in the Gileadite posterity of Manasseh (1 Chronicles 6:16-17). B.C. cir. 1618.

2. The first-born of Eshek among the descendants of king Saul, and the ancestor of one hundred and fifty valiant archers (1 Chronicles 8:39-40). B.C. cir. 588.
