a Presbyterian minister, was born at Bloomingburgh, O., Sept. 9, 1832. He pursued his academical studies in Salem Academy, Ross Co., 0., and graduated at Miami University in 1853. He studied theology in New Albany Seminary; was licensed to preach by Chillicothe Presbytery in 1855; employed by the American Tract Society during 1856; and ordained as pastor of the Presbyterian Church at Hamilton, O., in May, 1857.
