Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature

(Heb. Vophsi', וָפְסַי, perh. additional [Gesen.] or rich [Furst]; Sept. Σαβί v.r. Ι᾿αβί; Vulg. Vopsi), the father of Nahbi, which latter was the spy appointed by Moses from the tribe of Naphtali to explore Canaan (Numbers 13:14). B.C. ante 1657.
