Vota
Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature
(or Bota), a festival of the ancient Church, which fell on Jan. 4, so called because it was the day of sacrificing for the emperor's safety. See Bingham, Christ. Antig. bk. 20:ch. 1, 3.
